Filature Miroglio has developed a range of yarns made from a blend of 80% Tencel® and 20% Ecolabel® Certified,
noble fibres such as wool, alpaca and cashmere.
These yarns are woven and printed with the Miroglio Textile E.volution™system.
This wonderful combination of unique elements, with the collaboration and expertise of an important partner such as Lenzing,
coordinated and created by Miroglio Textile in terms of yarns, fabrics and innovative printing, has made this range of products
truly unique in terms of appearance, feel and functionality, from both a technical and environmental point of view.
Tencelis an organic and biodegradable fibre taken from untreated eucalyptus wood originating exclusively from sustainable forests.
Contrary to cotton, water and pesticides do not play an active role in the growth of the eucalyptus tree,
while the yield of Tencel fibres is 10 times superiorto that of cotton.
Statistically speaking,an average of 10 times less water is used compared to cotton.
The structure of the Tencel nano-fibre offers numerous advantages:
• smooth as silk
• strength comparable to polyester
• warm as wool
• cool as linen
• with a moisture absorbing capacity 50% higher than cotton.
The combination of Tencel – Modal, noble Eco-Label animal fibres (wool, cashmere, alpaca) make unique fabrics that are increasingly eco-sustainable.
